Miss Universe’s homecoming celebrated with march in Sedgefield

Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters overwhelmed down on home dirt this week, after travelling a universe for dual months. She was crowned Miss Universe in Nov final year, and is a second South African Miss Universe. Margaret Gardiner won a pretension in 1978.

The 22-year-old’s chaotic report could, however, accommodate a brief revisit to her hometown of Sedgefield, where residents lined a streets and organized a march in her honour.

As partial of a parade, Knysna mayor Eleanore Bouw-Spies handed Nel-Peters a keys to a city.

Nel-Peters also visited Sedgefield to assistance a proprietor who was adversely influenced by a fires that swept by a Garden Route in Jun final year.

She teamed adult with several companies to assistance reconstruct a resident’s home, tiny grill and dual sheds belonging to a resident, who ran a self-sustainable plantation and grill on a property.

The march and aiding a proprietor valid successful, with large residents, schoolchildren and companies attending a event.

Nel-Peters will after this revisit be formed in New York to perform her duties as Miss Universe.
